- The Cold Process Method

This is the easier of the two methods because you buy pre-made blocks of uncolored, unscented soap base. You don’t make the soap from scratch like in the cold process. With the melt and pour process, however, you lose some control over your ingredients and therefore, customization.
This method is popular because of its added safety, convenience and ease.
For the melt and pour, you melt the pre-made soap base and add in the fragrance and color. You pour the mixture into molds and wait until the soap is hardened. This soap is ready for use as soon as it is hard.
